Coaches find
athletes at combines and scouting companies like
Sports Press TV.
Coaches rely on numerous resources to find
athletes they include online resources, camps,
combines, high schools coaches and their own
recruiting coordinators. |
|
Most
athletes don't earn D1 scholarships there are over
1500 colleges that have athletic programs the
majority of them are D2, D3, and NAIA.
When you sign up with a recruiting service it is important
to have realistic goals. You should also have an
idea of what level you can compete at. |
|
Put
your academic and athletic information online.
Providing easy access to your highlight
videos and academic information makes a coach’s
job much easier. If you do this you immediately be
visible to hundreds of college coaches. |
|
Sports
press TV will contact over 400 athletic programs. There
are over 1,600 college athletic programs, you have
to keep in mind that you have a lot of schools to
choose from. Don't get stuck on just D1
schools you have to keep and open mind and find
the program that's right for you. |
|
If
you're getting colleges letters it doesn't mean you're
going to get a scholarship.
College programs send out hundreds of letters
(recruiting Mail) to prospective athletes.
They send out hundreds of letter and can only
offer roughly 25 scholarships so the odds of you
getting a scholarship are small.
College Programs look at hundreds of players annually
they then narrow their search down so few prospect
rarely receive a phone from a coach, and even less
a scholarship. So if you are receiving mail from
coaches still be very pro active because it doe not
mean you are going to receive an offer from those
schools.
The most important thing in recruiting is a
total understanding of the process no one is guaranteed
a full scholarship. If you need help in trying to
obtain a scholarship do your research and find a
recruiting or scouting service ask questions and
start you recruiting process, Good luck!
